Many people ask about the process of using AI to create content. The following are the steps and resources used to create the video above. Consider it to be the recipe behind the cake, the secret to our success, or a peek beneath the hood.
Step One: Content- the first step in creating is coming up with the idea. For this video, we wanted to create something educational that dispelled myths about using AI to cheat.
Step Two: Outline- the second step was to put our ideas for the video into written form. GPTs don’t require special language, like python, but that doesn’t make it easy. The quality of the output is entirely based on the quality of the input. Here is the first prompt fed into ChatGPT.
Step Three: Develop- in the third step, we worked with ChatGPT to create a script. Our proceeding conversation can be read here.
Step Four: Edit- Finally, we edited, edited, edited. See the transformation of the script from first to final drafts here. Once the script was finalized, we recorded Emily reading it then got to editing the old fashioned way. The video was created with Veed.io and all of the images and clip art were designed using ChatGPT or Leonardo.ai
In total, it took about 9 hours to create this video using AI. Is that faster than it would have been without AI? Is the quality better? Is it cheating? Or is it just smart usage of a new and exciting tool in the artist’s tool kit?
